Cayo Costa State Park is an island accessible only by boat and considered to be one of the best shelling beaches in the world.   With nine miles of beautiful beach, acres of pine forests, an abundance and variety of sea shells and more than six miles of trails (trails are located at the end of Cayo Costa), visitors will enjoy shelling, fishing, birdwatching and snorkeling on this beautiful barrier island.

For passengers booking a half day trip to the southern end of Cayo Costa: The 1/2 day trip is about 1/2 hour boat ride each way with two hours on the beach. The boat pulls into a dock on the bay side of this narrow section of the island and it is a short walk to the gulf side. Here the boat will stay with you as there are no amenities on this section of the island.

For passengers booking a full day trip to the northern tip of Cayo Costa: The full day trip is a 1-hour travel time each way with 4-hours on the island. The boat pulls into the State Park Dock where the Ranger Station is located on the bayside of the island. Here the boat will drop you off and there are bathrooms on the island. Bikes and kayaks are available for rent in this location only and this is where the island trails are located. Guest can walk to the beach (about 1-mile across to the Gulf side) or climb aboard the free tram service.

Passengers are encouraged to bring along anything they would like to be comfortable at the beach for the amount of time you are there, keeping in mind there is nothing provided on the boat or on the island itself. Food, drinks, coolers, chairs, umbrellas, towels, sunscreen, fishing rods (and a license too if applicable) are a few recommendations.

Reservations are required. Group pricing may be available for groups of 25 or more adults depending on the time of year.
